Sprouting Again

Shirlene loves willow trees. The grandkids all know it is "grandma's favorite tree." As we drive down the road, they say, "I see grandma's favorite tree."

When we moved into our last house in Chattanooga several years ago, there was a small stump of a tree sticking out of the ground in the backyard. It was only a stump. And it appeared dead. But soon after we moved in, I noticed sprouts coming out of the stump. I would whack them with the weed-eater, but they would return. One day, I decided just to let them grow. Later, there was a full-grown willow tree sitting in our backyard...grandma's favorite tree.

I thought of that tree as I read this verse from Job 14:7-9: "For there is hope for a tree, when it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and its shoots will not fail.”

May God give you the hope that what may appear dead today (relationships, finances, health, etc.) can come alive again through His incredible power.
