Significance In The Menial Tasks of Life

Many famous people like David, Esther, Daniel, and Moses are in the Bible. But in Philippians 2, we learn about a man named Epaphroditus. We know little about him. As far as we know, he never wrote a sermon or performed a miracle.

Epaphroditus is included in Philippians because he was a courier. He delivered a gift from the church at Philippi to the apostle Paul, who was in prison in Rome. On his return, he carried Paul's letter back to Philippi, which became what we know as the book of Philippians.

Though it may seem like a small task, Epaphroditus's faithfulness in this role ensured we have scriptures like "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13) and "Rejoice in the Lord alway, again I say rejoice." (Philippians 4:4)

We are all called to be faithful in menial tasks every day. We may feel unnoticed and unimportant, like our life impacts no one. Nevertheless, like Epaphroditus, you never know how God will use your faithfulness in menial tasks to bless others in the future. Who knows? One day, someone may even read about you as the one who carried God's message to your generation.
