Insignificant Acts Can Make All The Difference

On February 13, a father posted on X (formerly Twitter), “My toddler left his toy at an @IHGhotels while traveling. We called them, and they said they would get it in the mail for us.“ But the hotel went far beyond that. The hotel desk clerk took several pictures of the Beanie Baby, named “Snuggle Puppy”, at different places throughout the hotel and mailed them to the father, explaining to the toddler that Snuggle Puppy was well and would soon be home. Also, they jokingly said they had put the toy to work until he caught his ride home.

The toddler laughed as he saw his beloved stuffed toy “working” at different places throughout the hotel and was relieved to learn that Snuggle Puppy would soon be home.
Creating the pictures was a small act of kindness that didn’t seem that significant. But a young boy will grow up with a lifelong memory of a desk clerk who cared enough to comfort his loss.

“And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.” (Matthew 10:42 NLT) In a culture that applauds the grandiose and spectacular, may I remember God applauds the simple and seemingly insignificant. Can you imagine the impact in our world if every Believer did one small, insignificant act to make someone’s day better today?
