She Had Heard About Jesus

In Mark 5, we find the familiar story of a woman who had suffered from an affliction for over 12 years. She had spent everything she had on doctors and had only gotten worse. Because of the Jewish laws, society ostracized her and forced her to live a life separated from friends and family.

But verse 27 (NLT) says, “She had heard about Jesus….” Don’t miss the implication. For her to hear about Jesus, SOMEONE had to tell her about Jesus. An unnamed, unsung hero was the catalyst for this woman having the faith to touch the hem of his garment.

I say it often: “You just never know”. You just never know how a small act of obedience may stir the faith of someone in desperate need. You just never know how that stirring may lead to the miraculous. Even something so small as a quick testimony of the difference Jesus has made in our lives can have an eternal impact. Our simple act of witness can be a spark to the most extraordinary miracles.
