Have you ever wondered why supermarkets sell oranges in red mesh bags? According to a 2019 article in Reader’s Digest, the bags enhance their color, making them appear brighter and more appealing to consumers. This marketing strategy leverages the psychological effect of color contrast, as the red mesh complements the orange hue of the fruit, making it stand out on the shelves.
Jesus has given us our own “red mesh” bag to make us appear brighter and more appealing to the world. It is “love”. "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." (John 13:34)
Love sets us apart. Love amplifies our impact. Love complements our God-given gifts and abilities, making us “stand out” in the world. He added in the very next verse, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." (John 13:35)
