Your Flaws Don't Disqualify You

I realize I’m late to the party. Arts and crafts people already know this. But as an average non-creative, I was recently introduced to an ancient Japanese craft called kintsugi. NBCnews.com says, "Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold — built on the idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art. Every break is unique and instead of repairing an item like new, the 400-year-old technique actually highlights the ‘scars’ as a part of the design.”

The ancient craft of kintsugi is more ancient than that. God has been practicing it since the Garden of Eden. "And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast." (1 Peter 5:10 NIV).

Something beautiful, Something good.
All my confusion, He understood.
All I had to offer Him was brokenness and strife
But He made something beautiful of my life.
