Created For This Time, This Location For A Reason

During the beginning of the space race, on June 16, 1963, Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman in space and the only woman to fly solo in space. She had received very little formal education and began her work career in a textile factory. But she loved to skydive, and because of her expertise with a parachute, the Soviet space agency selected her to be a cosmonaut. She once said, “Anyone who has spent any time in space will love it for the rest of their lives. I achieved my childhood dream of the sky.” Little did she know that her dream of the sky would carry her to the far reaches of space! (www.space.com)

God has a unique purpose for each of our lives. In fulfilling that purpose in the monotony of daily responsibilities, we must remember that He never designs anything frivolously. While we marvel at the wonders of creation, remember that the Divine Designer has created you for this time, for this location, for a reason. Don’t let the mundaneness of the moment discourage you from the splendor of His design.

With the help of God, you can accomplish extraordinary things. May we rise today and declare with David, “With God’s help we will do mighty things!” (Psalm 60:12, NLT)

After 40 years in full-time ministry, I try to see how the little things in life speak big things about God. This blog is an attempt to share with you the many ways I see the love of God in the ordinary things of life.
