On April 28, 2024, commuters driving on Interstate 90 in Washington state witnessed an unusual sight. A group of zebras, in route to a sanctuary in Montana, took the opportunity to escape when their transporter stopped to inspect the trailer. The zebras dashed out of the trailer and started trotting alongside the vehicles, disrupting the traffic and causing an unexpected scene.
To add to the strange spectacle, a rodeo clown happened to be passing by headed to his next performance and was enlisted to help wrangle the animals. Witness Dan Barnett of North Bent told KING-TV of Seattle that he was in “disbelief,” when he saw the zebras eating grass off the side of the offramp.
We all experience unexpected events in our lives. Often they are not as comical as the one above. And sometimes, they can knock the wind out of our faith.
If you are in one of those seasons today, it's important to remember that God promises, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” (Hebrews 13:5 NLT). And with that assurance, we can confidently declare, "The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear" (Hebrews 13:6).
