The Echo of His Spirit

Recently, Shirlene and I were on a whale-watching tour when we unexpectedly came upon a pod of 50-70 dolphins. The Marine Biologist guiding the tour was super excited as the pod swam around and under our boat in the clear waters of the Pacific Ocean. Below are some pictures I took of these beauties.

As they darted around the boat, it was amazing to watch their synchronization and craftiness as they swam as a unit. According to a 2022 article by the BBC, dolphins can emit a sound wave and analyze the echoes that return. Echolocation enables them to determine the location and the size of objects and to swim accordingly.

As we navigate life, we, too, have an echolocator that guides us. Isaiah tells us, “Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, ‘This is the way you should go,’ whether to the right or to the left.” (Isaiah 30:21 NLT)

I pray I will always respond accordingly to the echo of His Spirit in my life.
