Soaring Like An Eagle

When an eagle gets too close to the nests of smaller birds, the smaller birds will “mob” attack the eagle in the air. Because they are smaller and more agile, the eagle is at a significant disadvantage. However, rather than fight the smaller birds, the eagle soars to a higher atmosphere. Higher than the smaller birds can survive.

Don’t miss the valuable lesson God provides us in the eagle. The eagle doesn't waste energy fighting the smaller birds, nor does it screech to the smaller birds its own majesty. It never has to tell the other birds that it is an eagle. It simply ascends to greater heights, leaving its troubles below.

It gives new meaning to the great encouragement in Isaiah 40:31: “They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles.” May we refuse to waste our energies on trivial matters or our breath trying to convince people of our majesty. Let’s mount up with wings and allow the Lord to renew our strength.
