Faithful Doesn't Always Gain Recognition

The Gospels feature many quotes from well-known disciples like Peter and John. Thomas and Judas get their share of ink. Yet, James, the son of Alphaeus, remains conspicuously silent, with not a single quote attributed to him. He serves as a reminder that recognition in God’s kingdom does not correlate with significance.

His life teaches us that staying faithful doesn’t always come with recognition. He reminds us that our impact in the Kingdom isn’t about how well-known we are but our constant dedication to Jesus.

Shirlene and I often attend many different churches on Sundays due to our current ministry position. I am truly blessed by the genuine and humble people who love Jesus without commendations. These individuals keep the church doors open, fervently praying for the return of even one lost sheep. They are the ones who deeply care for their communities, striving to be the guiding light that can transform their corner of the world. These saints raise their hands in worship of the God who has been their strength during tough weeks.

Each week, we meet people who live out the command of 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NLT): “So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.” Can I repeat that last phrase? “You know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”
